Here is the pattern:
Ch 80, sl st tog to form a circle. Be careful not to twist the chain.
Round 1: BLO: Ch 2, hdc in same st. Hdc in each st around. Sl st tog to the first hdc, not the ch 2. This pulls the stitches tog so to not leave a hole. Do this throughout the skirt.
Round 2: BLO: Ch 2, hdc in the same st. Hdc in each st around. Sl st tog.
Rounds 3-12: Repeat Round 2.
Round 13: Both loops of yarn: Ch 3, dc in same st. *Dc in the next 4sts, 2dc in the next st. Repeat from * around. Sl st tog.
Rounds 14-15: Repeat Round 13.
Round 16: Ch 3, dc in same st. Dc in each st around. Sl st tog.
Round 17: Repeat Round 16.
Round 18: Ch 3, 2 dc in same st. 3dc in the next st and in each st around. Sl st tog.
Round 19: Repeat Round 18. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Belt:
Row 1: Ch 115, sc in the 2nd ch from the hk, sc in each st across. Ch 2, turn.
Row 2: *Skip 1st st, hdc in next st. Now hdc in the skipped st. Cross in the front. (this is a crossed hdc st) Repeat from * across. Ch 1 and turn.
Row 3: Sc in each st across. Fasten off and weave in ends.
I made fringe for the ends, but you don't have to.
Pockets: make 2
Row 1: Ch 13, hdc in 3rd st from hk, hdc in each st across. Ch 2 and turn.
Row 2: Hdc in each st across. Ch 2 and turn.
Rows 3-6: Repeat Row 2. On Row 6, ch 1 instead of ch 2 and turn.
Row 7: Sc in each st across. Leave a long tail to sew the pocket on.
On the pockets, I sewed two pink buttons on the front in the middle. I sewed the pockets onto the front of the skirt.
Now go back to the top of the skirt to the first round of hdc. Attach yarn with a sl st to the back of the skirt, dc in each st around. Sl st tog. Do not fasten off. So I take the ¼" elastic, measure it to my daughter's waist and cut it. Then I sew the one end into a circle. Then I sc the elastic to the row of dc of the skirt. (sc around the elastic not through it) Fasten off and weave in ends.
To make the belt loops, I attached yarn to the hdc row of the Round 1 of skirt, ch 5 and sl st to the top of the dc round that you just did. Fasten off and weave in ends tightly and even tie a knot to make sure it's secure. I did this 4 times around the skirt, then I weaved the belt through.
